New to Financing? Here is a breakdown of Bobcat financing, Bobcat leasing and Bobcat loan options to help guide you.

Most business owners find us when searching for a Bobcat loan with a general need to purchase and finance their equipment. You may not realize it, but there are different ways of funding a Bobcat acquisition.  Each with its own unique benefits.

Bobcat Loans

Bobcat loans are the most commonly known financial instruments to purchase equipment. They generally include a down payment with varying repayment terms.

A Bobcat loan often uses the equipment as collateral, however, the lender many require additional covenants and sometimes file a blanket lien against your business.

When your Bobcat loan is paid off, the equipment is yours to continue to use or resell. In these terms, your obligations to the lender are unambiguously complete.

Traditional Bobcat loans usually result in the Bobcat being a capital expenditure and that effects your financial balance sheet and the way you can depreciate it.

Bobcat loans are a financing option offered by most traditional banks and due to the restrictive covenants it is not a financing structure that we choose to offer.

Bobcat Financing

Bobcat financing is a general term indicating you may be looking for a loan or an equipment finance agreement (“EFA”) in order to preserve your valuable cash or working capital.

Financing provides fixed monthly payments with a range of repayment terms. At the conclusion of your Bobcat finance agreement there is no buyout and you will have no future financial obligation to the lender.

Unlike a bank loan, our equipment finance agreements do not require any collateral other than the Bobcat .  In addition, we don’t take blanket liens, require you to maintain financial ratios, or include other covenants often required by banks.

Bobcat Leasing

Leasing a Bobcat also provides fixed monthly payments, but has the added benefit of covering 100% of the equipment cost plus any warranties/accessories plus any sales tax.

Similar to an equipment finance agreement, our Bobcat leases do not require covenants, blanket liens or additional collateral.

An additional benefit of Bobcat leases are the possible tax advantages.  We can structure your Bobcat lease to meet the requirements of Section 179 tax deductions.  Or, we can structure your Bobcat lease allowing you to deduct the entire monthly payment.

The major difference between a Bobcat financing and a Bobcat lease is the added flexibility.  You have three options at the end of a Bobcat lease:  1) You can return the Bobcat and walk away;  2) Or you can purchase the Bobcat for the pre-set purchase option (i.e. $1.00, 10% or Fair-Market-Value); 3) Or you can continue making the monthly payments until you decide to exercise the purchase option or return the Bobcat .
